It is the largest "terramara" in Europe, made up of a village with two inhabited areas, covering an area of approximately seven hectares dating back to a period between the XVI and the XII centuries b.C.
How to get there:
By car:
Highway A1, exit Terre di Canossa-Campegine , then follow for castelnovo Sotto/Brescello; from Reggio Emilia (22 km) on main road SS 63, turn left shortly past Villa Sesso, from Parma (20 km) take main road SS 62 to the Enza River, which acts as a natural boundary between the Province of Parma and the Province of Reggio Emilia, turn right immediately past the Enza river. |
